Dental Implants

team
Missing teeth can lead to both aesthetic and oral health concerns, affecting self-confidence and everyday activities such as eating and speaking. At Dental Lenses, we believe everyone deserves a confident and healthy smile. Dental implants provide a permanent solution to missing teeth, preventing issues such as jaw misalignment, bone deterioration, and difficulties with chewing or speaking.

Dental implants are designed to function and appear like natural teeth. They consist of a titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone, acting as an artificial tooth root. This post fuses with the bone over time, providing a stable foundation for a replacement tooth, bridge, or denture.

There are two primary types of dental implants:
  • Endosteal Implants: The most commonly used, consisting of titanium screws placed directly into the jawbone. Over time, the implant fuses with the bone for a secure and stable foundation.
  • Subperiosteal Implants: Recommended for patients with insufficient jawbone support for endosteal implants. These implants are placed under the gums but rest above or on the jawbone rather than being inserted into it.

Dental Implant Procedure:
  • 1. Initial Consultation: The dentist will assess your oral health, take X-rays, and determine if you are a suitable candidate for implants.
  • 2. Implant Placement: A titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia.
  • 3. Healing Period: The bone and implant fuse together over a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • 4. Abutment Placement: Once healing is complete, an abutment is attached to the implant to support the final restoration.
  • 5. Final Restoration: A custom-made crown, bridge, or denture is securely attached to the implant for a natural look and function.
